Did you see the motivational quote I posted earlier this week?
Sounds like good advice.
Wake up determined, crush your day, go to bed satisfied. Easy right?
NOT! (Heh, remember when it was cool to say this?)
“Waking up determined” is hard.
In those first seconds of the morning, when you reach into the chilly darkness for your alarm, it’s far too easy to recoil under the covers where where life is warm and cozy and safe.
Unless you made a plan for your day.
“Crushing your day” is a challenge too.
Constant interruptions and uncertainty around which tasks to prioritize keep you busy but ultimately unproductive.
Unless you’ve created a plan for your day.
“Going to bed satisfied?” Don’t even think about it.
Waking up in a state of lethargy before getting yanked in multiple direction for eight hours only leaves you feeling like you got a lot done but didn’t accomplishing a thing.
Unless you followed a plan for your day.
When you plan your day, you take control of your time; you prioritize your workload so it’s clear what comes next; you have a schedule to keep you focused and productive; and you design a motivating outcome so you can wake up with determination and go to bed with satisfaction.
If you think you don’t have time to plan, you can’t afford not to.
Tonight, before you hit the sack, write down the first thing you’re going to do in the morning and the main tasks or project you’re going to accomplish tomorrow. Set your plan in place tonight so tomorrow you can hit the ground running.
